Belly Stripper Cream

While looking for new and interesting things on what we refer to as the world wide web, I bumped into a very promising beauty product called Belly Stripper. It's a cream made of natural and organic elements that helps reduce fat while you are sleeping. Looks very interesting, click here to learn more about it! http://www.bellyslimmer.com/

Summer of the Corset Belts!

Well, I finally got the chance to start sewing again . . . and I went wild! With the heat of summer coming on, I decided to make myself a short-sleeved peasant blouse and perhaps another corset belt to match. What I ended up with was one shirt . . . and NINE corsets! These belts are absolutely irresistible. So many colors, so many combinations, so many possibilities! I also did something a little different in my belt design. By adjusting the pattern a little, I was able to create corset lacing in the back as well as in the front. Before this, the back looked kind of boring, but now it is SO cute! (And more adjustable too.)

I'll probably list them on Etsy (Well . . . some of them. I've already fallen in love with several!)

Haircut!

Today I decided to cut my own hair! I've heard of so many people doing it that I finally had to try it. I found a lot of really good videos on Youtube. Some of the best DIY haircut videos involved using a gadget called the CreaClip to pull all the hair forward. Then when you cut it that position, it naturally layers your hair. Since we didn't have a CreaClip on hand, we decided to try to make our own. It actually worked out very well and (with a little help from my mom) I ended up with a very professional looking haircut!

This is me in my Bunk Room T-Shirt after our march in the 4th of July parade. The Bunk Room is a magazine I write for which is written entirely by kids.

To be perfectly honest, I was amazed how easy it was to cut my own hair. I'm really happy with the way it came out and so glad I gave it a try!

The Book Purse - A Book Lovers Dream Come True!

Today  I decided to make a book purse. As an avid book worm, I was enchanted with the idea of combining my love of books with my love of fashion to create a super cool accessory. I first espied said item on Etsy.com. The sleek, blue, leatherbound tome seemed to cry out to me. And to top it all off, the purse just happened to be made out of "The Chronicles of Narnia" (which happens to be one of my favorite series).

I decided at that moment I must learn how to make my own (as I've said before I love books). So I did some searches on the net and found several DIY's on instructables.com.

P.S. If you want one of these but don't feel like making one, go to Esty and search book purses. You'll finds all kinds.

E-textiles ~ The Fabric of the Future?

Hey everyone! Today I discovered something called E-textiles. It's a process by which clothing and electronics are combined. Here's a really cool example of it.

Don't you just love the way it glows! I started looking around on how to make your own e-textiles and there are some pretty good articles on instructables.com. This looks like a promising fashion trend. I can't wait to see wear it goes!

Steampunk Tails!

Hey everyone! I'm back from a week long media fast. I'm feeling very refreshed and ready to start posting again. Here's my Steampunk jacket, one of of my earliest attempts at "daringly modest" fashion, and also my very first solo sewing project.

The Victorian styled tails were a bit of a challenge to sew. For the most part the outfit looks pretty good, but I did run into some unexpected difficulties. You see, I have broad shoulders and since this was one of my first projects, I didn't take account of that when I cut out the pieces. The shoulders ended up being too tight for me. (LOL! : )
